Introducing the IDEAL Industries, Inc. Month of Kindness

This August, IDEAL Industries, Inc. employees across the globe are giving back with a month-long celebration of kindness and service.

The IDEAL Electrical and IDEAL Industries, Inc. Sycamore, Illinois campus started a tradition of honoring a “Day of Kindness” each August. This event celebrated the birthday and legacy of our founder, J. Walter Becker, who was known for his acts of kindness and service to others. IDEAL Industries, Inc. is broadening this initiative in 2025 with a global, enterprise-wide celebration of “Month of Kindness” taking place this month.

 

What is J. Walter Becker Month of Kindness? 

  • Kindness Month celebrates the legacy of our founder, J. Walter Becker, who centered his life around demonstrating kindness in all areas within his community. To honor him, we carry on his philosophy throughout August by participating in dedicated events that leave a lasting positive impact. 
     

  • Treat Everyone with Kindness is one of our five core values at IDEAL Industries, Inc. This new month-long celebration represents our commitment to prioritizing kindness globally not only in August, but year-round. 

What’s Happening During the Month of Kindness?

J. Walter Becker Month of Kindness is in full swing, and our employees are planning and attending special volunteer events and activities all month long. The acts of kindness include:

 

 

  • Volunteering: This August, IDEAL Industries, Inc. employees are using their two paid volunteering days for good. From volunteering at a Ronald McDonald House in New Zealand to serving on a Habitat for Humanity construction site in Wisconsin, employees are giving back to their local communities across the world.
     

  • Giving: IDEAL Industries, Inc. employees are encouraged to donate to the charitable organizations they support this August. Throughout the month, U.S. employees will triple their impact with 2:1 donation matching from The IDEAL Foundation (up to $2,000 per employee).
     

  • Spreading Kindness: Employees are encouraged to promote small acts of kindness throughout the workplace and distribute “kindness cards” to colleagues to express their appreciation. Team lunches will also be organized.

     

Through these efforts, IDEAL Industries, Inc. will honor our founder's long-standing value of spreading kindness and making a positive impact on the communities we live in.
